SPARC 2023

Wednesday 8th November 2023

SPARC23 was held at Pollock Halls, University of Edinburgh and was an overwhelming success.

We are very keen to celebrate 20 years since ‘Let’s Make Scotland More Active’ was released in 2003 so this will be woven into the overall theme of the conference with an overarching ethos of ‘Making Lives Better – 20 years on’.

We have a top notch programme in planning for the day including:

  • a keynote presentation from Dr Alison Kirk reflecting on the last 20 years of physical activity for health in Scotland and looking forward to how we can make lives better
  • a panel discussion with key expert practitioners, academics and policy colleagues to encourage us to reflect on the journey we’ve been on and inspire us to drive progress forward
  • poster and oral presentations of both case studies of good practice and academic research – with prizes for top submissions!
  • knowledge exchange sessions bringing together research, policy and practice to explore ‘hot topics’ in physical activity for health

Abstract submissions and registration for this year’s event are now closed.
